Like many organizations, the pandemic led Cisco — a leading technology company with a global real estate portfolio that exceeded 18m square feet — to reevaluate its real estate strategy and challenge its assumptions around the role of space. Embarking on a workplace transformation journey that was driven by purpose, Cisco focused on understanding how and why people choose to work in the office, addressing individual and team needs. As a result, Cisco began investing in its global portfolio to thoughtfully create spaces that are designed to enhance the hybrid experience and bring people together for a reason.

At WorkSpaces '23, Cisco's Senior Vice President of Workplace Resources, Christian Bigsby, shared best practices and challenged attendees to consider how intentional they’re being about bringing people back to the office, whether they’re activating spaces in a way that helps employees understand why they are there, and if they’re leveraging technology in ways that could help to enhance the experience.
